About Me

For over 30 years, I have journeyed the road of continuous personal growth. Today, I consider myself to be a recovering “wounded healer.”I was the past Chief Operating Officer and Director of Counselling at Little House Society and am currently the Manager of Community Counselling and Alumni services at Phoenix Drug & Alcohol Recovery and Education Society.Using a compassionate approach, I have worked as a therapist in the addictions field for over 10 years. I integrate my diverse experience in private practice, family recovery programs, workshop facilitation, and my own personal journey. I have participated in Compassionate Enquiry Training with Dr. Gabor Maté, a renowned speaker, author and addictions expert.Together, we work toward growth and wellness in the following areas:

  • Substance Use Disorder

  • Co-dependency

  • Life transitions

  • Anger management

  • Grief and loss

  • Career change

  • Self-worth

  • Relationships

  • Parenting

My life's purpose is to support individuals and families struggling with substance use disorder, uncover their issues, and facilitate healing. I counsel and work with them through every stage of recovery.I support you from where you are today to where you want to be.

Counselling can help...

I know that family members and caregivers face unique challenges when supporting a love one struggling with substance use disorder.Counselling can help, regardless of what your addicted loved one does. You probably know by now that you can’t stop him or her from abusing substances, but family members can gain an understanding of how they can support their loved ones towards recovery vs. enabling the substance use to continue.

  • Learn about substance use disorder

  • Increase your self esteem and sense of well being

  • Boundary setting

  • Helping versus enabling

  • Caregiving versus caretaking

  • Make the best decisions for you and your family

  • Have peace of mind

This results in family members and caregivers becoming holistically healthier and the substance misusers beginning to make different choices.
